Marlay Point Overnight Race

Classic division

Definition of a classic boat for the 50th Marlay Point Overnight Race

For the 50th Marlay Point Overnight Race, a “classic boat” division was created. To be classed as a “classic boat” the vessel is required over 30 years old and be between 4.8 metres and 10.5 metres in overall length. Construction could be wood or fibreglass, including any vessel built before 1988. All boats entered the Marlay Point Overnight Race must also have meet safety category 5N.

It did not include classes (that may have be older than 30 years) that were already recognised trailer sailers, such as Hartley TS16, Sunmaid, RL24, Timpenny’s etc. which already qualified for other divisions.
